You can also check the EPF balance through an SMS. And within few minutes you will be able to know your provident fund amount. The same can be known through giving a missed call. Thus, simply there are so many ways of checking EPF balance either download the EPFO app or visit the official website of EPFO. You should always keep on checking and be updated about your provident fund amount/balance through opening EPFO portal or EPFO application. • Using EPFO portal

Before the emergence of online facilities and services employees had to go to the regional offices of EPM for knowing or checking the status of their provident fund. But now everything has become so easy and all that because of the online services. You can check the status of your provident fund balance by sitting at home or from anywhere at just a few clicks. You just have to follow some steps in order to know “how to check EPF balance online?”.

The steps are given below:

1. You have to visit the official website of EPFO, after that click on the tab named “our services”.
2. You will see a drop-down menu there then select the option named “for employees”.
3. You will have to click on “member passbook” option in the list under “services”.
4. Now you will see a log in page on your screen, where you will have to fill the asked details. You will have to enter your UAN number, password and captcha.
5. After filling the details click on the “login” button.

And you are done and can now see your provident fund balance.

• By sending an SMS

In case the internet facility is not available, you can also check your EPF account balance through an SMS. You just have to send an SMS to the given specified number. And you should also be aware of your UAN number which is linked to your KYC details. All your bank account, PAN, and aadhaar card details are included in KYC details.

In case of any problem, you can also ask your employer to help you so that you will be able to access your EPF account balance. Ask them to link your UAN with your KYC. After doing that, you will just have to make an SMS on the given number by following the steps mentioned below:

Step 1: You will have to type EPFOHO UAN ENG. ENG is made up of the first three characters of the language in which you want to get the reply back from them. Here ENG is for “English”. Similarly, if you want the details in Gujarati, you need to type GUJ in place of ENG. This facility can be availed in the mentioned or preferred languages like English, Hindi, Punjabi, Marathi, Gujarati, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, and Malayalam.

Step 2: Now send your message to 7738299899.

• By simply giving a missed call

If both the above-mentioned options are not suitable you can go for a missed call too. Means by giving a missed call on the mentioned number you will get to know your provident fund account summary. But here also you should know your UAN number and that UAN should be linked with you KYC details. And the KYC details include all your bank account, PAN, and aadhaar card details. In case, your KYC details are not linked you can ask your employer to get it done. Only when it’s done you will be able to receive a receipt of your EPF account balance. If you want to check your EPF account balance you will have to follow the mentioned steps:

Step 1: You will have to dial 011-22901406 on your mobile phone, and give a missed call to given number from your registered or mentioned mobile number.

Step 2: Once you are done by giving a missed a call, you will get to know your EPF details through an SMS on your mobile phone.

• Through EPFO balance app

For this you should know your UAN number and it should have been already activated by your employer. And once everything is clear you will be able to check your EPF account balance.

For checking it through the app you will have to first download the app named “m-sewa app of EPFO” for android users. Once it is installed follow the below steps:

Step 1: Start installing the app, and click on “Member” followed by “Balance/passbook”.

Step 2: After that enter your Universal Account Number (UAN) and your registered mobile number to make system confirm the mobile number against your UAN. If the mentioned numbers matches, you will be able to see your complete EPF details including the PF balance available in your provident fund account. But, if these two numbers would not match, an error will occur.
